Wizkid becomes the first Nigerian artist to be nominated for an NAACP Image Award

Wizkid becomes the first Nigerian artist to be nominated for an NAACP Image Award as “Brown Skin Girl” has been nominated for “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration” at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a civil rights organization in the United States.

Founded in the year 1909, NAACP started as a bi-racial endeavor to advance justice for African Americans. 

"Brown Skin Girl" which was released in 2019 have so far received the Soul Train Music Awards: The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award.

Aside the NAACP nomination, "Brown Skin Girl" have also been nominated  for the Soul Train Music Award for Best Collaboration
