Nobody will beg Arsenal star player Bukayo Saka to play for Nigeria; NFF: According to Pinnick, the era of pleading with players to feature for the national team is over as the country is blessed with talent and he will not beg 18 year old Bukayo saka or any player to represent the Super Eagles.

Saka has been in fine form since breaking into Arsenal’s first team and this season he has become a key member of Mikel Arte ta's side scoring four goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions this season

Saka was born in England to Nigerian parents and has represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels but is still eligible to play for Nigeria.

Pinnick has failed in the past to persuade Chelsea players Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori to play for Nigeria, despite traveling to the European country to convince the players.
According to Pinnick, in the case of Saka, the NFF has plenty players that can play his position, and though he’s a good player the NFF won’t beg him to play.

“Saka is an excellent prospect but we have other players in his position who are playing so well,” Pinnick said in an Instagram Live chat.

“We have talents everywhere so we won’t beg people to play for Nigeria. It is about ardour and fervour, If it’s their desire and they merit it, they’ll be given a chance to represent Nigeria.”

Wickedness: Stepmother Leaves 6year-old Boy with Needles in His Eye, Claims He Played with Her Business

6year-old Divine has needles stuck in the eye for playing with his stepmother's needles, a social media user reported on Monday, January 27.  

According to the poster, Divine's stepmother, Mrs Idongesit Ikpong who happens to be a hairdresser, could not find needles to stitch her customer's hair. Upon discovering that Divine was playing with the needles, she pierced needles into his eye's lacrimal gland.

Wife Stabs Husband to Death in Katsina

Rabi Shamsudeen, a 19-year-old housewife have been arrested for allegedly stabbing her 25-year-old husband, Salish Shamsudeen, to death in Katsina.

Rabi was said to have stabbed her husband in the stomach after they had had a misunderstanding at their home  on Monday, January 27.

Public Relations Officer, Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah who confirmed the incident, narrated that neighbours heard the deceased shouting for help and tried to enter the house only to discover that the gate had already been locked. 

According to Gamba, the neighbours entered the house through the fence and met the deceased struggling to come out of his room with blood all over him.

The victim who was rushed to a nearby hospital, died on the way.

OVER 30 Persons Confirmed Dead, Several Others Injured in Recent Attack on Bokkos by Herdsmen in Plateau

17 persons have been reportedly killed in an overnight attack on Ruboi community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State by Fulani herdsmen. 

SaharaReporters confirmed this in a post it shared via social media on Tuesday, January 28. 

13 persons have also been killed, five others in recent attack on Kwatas community of the same local government area.

According to an eyewitness from Ruboi, "The marauding herdsmen burnt almost all houses in Ruboi. No house was spared."

Another eyewitness who confirmed the incident said that the herdsmen killed seventeen person, leaving five injured and several houses burnt. 

"The first attack started at 7:30pm and continued, the second one was from around 8:00pm to 4:00am", the witness added.

The witness also said that they had called for intervention but military didn't  show up until it was too late. 

"We saw their faces, they were Fulani herdsmen and they all wore black", he confirmed.

"There was no disagreement, they wrote on our walls that they were going to drive us away from the land because they said the land belonged to them.

"During the attack, they were shouting 'Plateau belongs to us!', 'Bokkos belongs to us!'. 

"They want our land and are killing us to take it because the government is silent."

NBA legend Kobe Bryant and daughter die in a helicopter crash

Social media users mourn as news broke that NBA legend Kobe Bryant had died on Sunday, January 26, in a helicopter crash.

Bryant was one of five people killed when a private helicopter went down in Calabasas, California, on Sunday, killing everyone on board. He was 41 years old.

One of the other victims in the crash have been identified as Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.

Devastated fans gathered around a makeshift memorial for Bryant outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles. 

Suicide Bombers Attack Mosque in Gwoza, Borno State, kill 12-year-old Boy, Leave Several Others Injured

SaharaReporters has just reported the going off of an improvised explosive device at a mosque in Gwoza, Borno State, killing a 12-year-old boy and leaving several others injured. 

According to SaharaReporters, Musa, a resident of the area, confirmed that two suicide bombers strapped with IED  had entered the mosque during afternoon prayer before the explosion occurred. 

"The bombing happened around Guduf Nagadiyo at Bulabaulin in Gwoza. A 12-year-old boy was killed, while others sustained injuries," Musa told SaharaReporters, adding that soldiers from 192 battalion of the Nigerian Army had been deployed to the spot to forestall against any further attack.
